What…You want how much for that?

Don’t you just love our new couch! The fiance and I got to upgrade our apartment to a three bedroom so we could have more space. You know what that means. New space means new stuff! Our old apartment was nice but it looked a little hodge-podge because the decor was a strange mix if his stuff and my stuff that didn’t really mesh well. So we went to browse for a new couch not really expecting to really find anythig within our budget. We though MAYBE we would find a chaise lounge to put in the sun room. Oh we did.

I just love it! Ashley Furniture Home Store has a place off of Summer Ave. that they do their warehouse liquidations. Basically they sell the floor models that have been slightly damaged for crazy discounts. When we stumbled up this couch we couldn’t find anything wrong with it so we figured it was too expensive. The guy that sold it to us had a cold that must have gone to his head because we got it for $500 bucks! When I heard that number I was baffled. I’m thinking surely he means to sell us just part of the sectional. Nope, all four pieces for a measly five hundred.  Ashley Furniture sells a similar one in their regular store for somewhere around $2000! Yeeeeeaaaaaah buddy!

Wedgies!!!

I must admit that I need another pair of nude shoes like I need a whole in the head, but then again that’s pretty much true with all of my shoe purchases. I just love these Steve Madden wedges and they are SO comfortable. A pretty and comfy wedge is a beautiful and rare thing to a girl like me. Even more beautiful was the price…..

Actually I  happen to think that $89.00 really isn’t bad for this kind of shoe because  Steve Maddens are made really well. But I do get giddy when I score them for a quick $20 bucks. SHOEGASM!

Fall Fashion Finds

I love this cozy little grey jacket I found over the weekend. Being from Florida I always have a problem spending money on winter coats because half my life I didn’t need them. But I guess after four years of experiencing real winters it was time to give up that way of thinking. I was dreading the thought of dropping some dough on a coat when I could be buying shoes. Haha, I got some of those too but that’s for a later post. When I picked up this guy and did the happy dance at the price!

Yes please! Not to mention the little details in the sleeves make the Florida girl in me feel better about having to be all bundled up.

I think I’m going to go back this week to see if I can find some cute sweaters! Happy Shopping!!

Louisiana Pickers

How gorgeous is this 1940’s vintage necklace?!? The picture doesn’t even begin to do it justice.  I’m a sucker for anything vintage and I love the grey-ish blue colors of the pearls. The last time the fiance and I went to visit his family in Louisiana I dragged him to the antique shops in town. He’s such a good egg 🙂 Anyhoo…we went into this little shop that had mostly furniture so I wasn’t expecting to find anything good. In the back of the store I found a case with a lot of jewelry that was mostly just meh…..then I the fiance spotted this goody. I just love him. Haha, ok I’ll stop being mushy. The the tag said $40 on the box but the lady was willing to give it to us for $15! I’m thinking well hells yea!!! That’s when these caught my eye…..

Instant love! While I was gushing over them the fiance pulled out his inner cheap divo and said “Can we get them both for $20?” Gawd he’s good (last one I swear). So we got both of these vintage pieces for a quick $20 bucks. But then………dun-dun-dun. I was trying them on with an outfit at home and I broke the fragile hinge that holds the dangley part of the earring. I was so crushed! I wasn’t sure if they could be fixed because they are so old and I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg to put them back together. But if there is one jeweler I trusted to take them to its my friend Ed Harris. Anytime I need ring sizing or any custom work I go to him 🙂 Not to mention he did my engagement ring along with quite a few other sparklers in my jewelry case. Sure enough his in house guy was able to fix them. They even shined them up!

I didn’t even know you could do that with vintage stuff! Thankx Ed! Click on his name about if you want to view his stuff!

Scissor Happy…

I bet your wondering what I’m up to with that title. A few months ago I saw this dress at Ross for $20.00 and almost bought it. However at the time I didn’t really NEED a new cocktail dress so after a debate with my debit card I put it back. Then yesterday I was decided to go back to Ross to scout a few things for my upcoming engagement photo shoot. Low and behold I check out the clearance rack and see this dress again, but this time for only $14.00 bucks!!!

I wasn’t going to turn away from shopping fate so bought it. This is where it gets tricky. While we were in Louisiana the fiance bought me an amazing antique bib necklace that I wanted to wear for the shoot.  The color of the dress compliments the necklace but the frill on the shoulder was just too much.

Never being the one to settle I busted out with my fabric scissors. Because of the fabric I had to be careful not to cut the actual dress so I cut just snipped along the stitch…..

And now……

It’s perfect for the necklace!!! Yay! I’ll have a separate post on the necklace along with the earrings we scored coming up in a minute 🙂 Oh and never fear…..I saved the frill in case I want to sew it back on again after the shoot.

Cheap Rocks!

Rock Revivals are by far my all time favorite brand of jeans. However, I’m not such a fan of the price even if they are worth it. They usually run about $140-$170 bucks. I went the mall today to visit a friend of mine that works in Dillards. Mind you I had no intention of shopping until  I saw these guys with a sign about them that said 40% off the lowest price!

They were the last pair of this style and they were my size! After I asked the sales chick what  price they would be after tax I couldn’t walk away!

I only payed $72.76 for a $148 pair of jeans! SCORE!

Stilettoe Nikes? HOLY SHNIKIES!!

There I was….minding my one business when BAM! These guys jumped out and bit me! LOL or at least that’s the excuse I’m telling everyone 🙂 I was online shopping this weekend for a great pair of fall boots because the one’s in my closet are on their last leg. I was really trying to find a good leather pair for under $40 bucks but really nice leather just doesn’t come cheap. Even if you are a seasoned pro at getting the steals. I put these guys on in the store and I immediately knew they were going to be expensive. Not only were they comfy but the quality of the craftsmanship was top notch. And it’s no wonder….

The designer is Cole Haan. After seeing that I was really afraid to look at the price tag. But then I noticed something else.

Nike Air? Wait what? They combined Cole Hann quality and style with the comfort of Nike Air! Genius! No wonder they were so comfortable! By this point I was reeled in enough to take a peek at the price tag.

A measly $99.99 for a $420.00 pair of leather boots! If I’m honest I had to do a lap around the store before deciding to buy them. I’m used to spending like $30, maybe $40 on a cute pair of shoes. But this was too good of a deal to pass up. So I took a deep breath and swiped the debit card. So what do you think? Were they worth it?

New Playground!

I was ultra excited when I saw the saw that this new store Love Culture was coming to the mall!! To be honest I had never heard of it but with a name like that it was at least worth a little look-see. At first glance inside the store I got a little fashion tourette syndrome with how many things there were to look at. Plus I wasn’t exactly sure what I was looking for. But I did a little digging and came up this this little number.

I love how this skirt hugs my booty! And for $12 bucks I wasn’t putting it back once I had my hands on it. I don’t normally go for this type of top because I’m small in the rib cage and they don’t tend to fit me well. But the sweetheart neckline looked nice and I’m trying a lot of new things lately.

Only $32.56 for a cute new outfit! Yes please!

Found More than Carnies at the Fair!

I swear I am an old soul because anything thing vintage makes my heart shutter! I have always been that way. In high school instead of going to the mall to get my prom jewelry I went to the antique shops! While at the fair this weekend I saw a booth that had all this new and vintage jewelry randomly placed together. When I spotted these babies I thought…MINE!  The lady said they were from the 1940’s which by the discoloration in the stones  she is most likely right . But I think that it gives them charm. The tag says $18 but the she gave them to me for $15. The next day  went back for more!

I got this amazing vintage bracelet for $5!!! LOVE IT!!! So crazy that you can find treasures like this at the fair!

This Dress Says…I’m 30!

The fiance took this pic with his Iphone before we went downtown to celebrate my 30th with friends. For him to do this without me prompting him is a rarity so when he does you know it’s a good look 🙂 .To celebrate the big 3-0 I knew I wanted something different and of course hot! And to be honest at first glace this dress was not what I was going for. I normally have a rule to avoid slut-ville….show either the boobs or the legs. Well this dress sure threw out the rule book because it showed the boobs, the legs, and THE BACK!

When I showed it to my fiance in the store it was the only dress out of seven that he dubbed as hot. Plus he raised his eyebrows and nodded his head (always a good sign). So I tried it on and it fit like a glove. Actually more like sausage casing but I thought WFT…if I can still pull it off and he loves it why not! Not gonna let all those damn back exercises at the gym be in vain!

Haha! I have to say that I smirked a little bit when a girl said she had the same dress because she got hers in Spain. Can’t even imagine what that must have cost her! I got mine at Ross for $12.99!

Gotta love birthday deals! A girl has to be frugal in her old age 🙂
